1 cup Cake flour

3/4 tsp Mccormick iodized salt

5 pcs Egg yolks

/12 cup Granulated white sugar

1/4 cup Crisco pure canola oil

1/4 cup Fresh milk

5 pcs Egg whites

1 cup Clara ole maraschino cherries

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Combine dry ingredients in a large stainless bowl. |

In a separate bowl, combine all the wet ingredients. Mix the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients using a wire whisk until batter is thick and smooth. |

Whisk egg whites until stiff peaks. Fold in the whites into the thick batter in 3 batches. |

Cut cherries in half and remove stems. Place on the bottom of the pan with the round part facing the pan. Transfer batter on the same pan and bake for 30-35 mins or until springy. |

Remove from the oven and immediately turn over on a cooling rack and detach from pan. Allow to cool before serving. |

Do i need to put parchment paper before i put the cherries?

Thank you for reaching out! no need for parchment paper.It will not stick to the pan since the recipe is high in syrup.
