TasteSetters: Age of New Norms for Food Service and Hometrepreneurs | A Food and Beverage Webinar Series
Tastesetters, the community of food enthusiasts, experts, and entrepreneurs with the intention to further promote the next taste trends, is back again with its advocacy of inspiring foodies to become business owners and homentrepreneurs while developing their skills at the same time. This is through this year’s series of learning initiatives which will see established names in the food & beverage industry share their knowledge and know-how to the Tastesetters community.
The online community, which boasts of 80,000 members, has always been a trusted go-to place for the restaurant practitioners, owners, purchasing officers from the food industry and every-day foodies on the lookout for the latest updates, industry tidbits, and best-practices, as well as feature stories that will further boost their knowledge in the field. In fact, in the last three years alone, Tastesetters were able to bring its innovation workshop series across the Philippines, as it discovers food trends along the way. More than anything, as a movement, Tastesetters encouraged the F&B industry stakeholders to continuously push the envelope, to create good food that would set the trend.
Taking advantage of the growing interest in food and entrepreneurship this 2020, Tastesetters is introducing its new round of learning programs through a series of webinars slated to debut this July. The webinar format also allows Tastesetters to share the learning opportunity to a larger audience, given that all 80,000 members will have the opportunity to access the series once it starts airing in early July.
First in the webinar series is “Food Service and Homentrepreneurship” featuring three talented women who will share not only their experiences as part of the food industry but also insights on how aspiring home chefs or home bakers can translate their hobbies into successful businesses. Scheduled on July 10, Friday, from 6PM to 7:30PM is the first webinar of the series featuring Michelle Miranda-Fabella, a registered nutritionist-dietitian and owner of MDF Diet2go, Chef Celina David, a recipe developer and pastry chef instructor, and Chef Waya Araos-Wijanco, owner and executive chef of Gourmet Gypsy and Art Café.
Guest speakers will take the time to provide insights on possible business opportunities even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and how budding business owners can continue to thrive in spite of the challenges present by means of applying best practices in the industry.
Chef Celina stresses on recognizing and seizing opportunities, similar to what she is right now to ensure that she will continuously thrive, “Hopefully the audience can pick up some ideas from my experience and apply it to their own business.”
Meanwhile, Chef Waya highlights the importance of early planning and resilience in order to succeed in any endeavor. She shares, “Embrace the fact that there is no going back to the old ways. Go back to the drawing board and plan for a future that will make you, your business, and your staff more resilient to challenges like this.”
Aside from the talk by the guest speakers, the webinar sessions will include a Q&A portion which will allow the audience to interact and get insights directly from the guests. Hosting both sessions is Valerie Tan who is sure to add more excitement and energy during the course of the series.
