TasteSetters Workshop | Bread and Pastries Food Trends

I used to bake a lot back when I was still in school. I love baking because of its discipline and the Science in it. The ingredients are measured like they are formula and the procedures are followed as if they are policies.

I am looking forward to spending more time in the kitchen and whipping new recipes after attending the TasteSetters Workshop. But, I need a willing soul to take on all the sweets, anyone?

Taste Setters is a community launched by Sysu International which aims to bring together country’s biggest names in the food and beverage industry – from home cooks, business owners, entreprenuers to professionals working in the industry. My previous attendance to Taste Setters workshops had been very informative. I learned different food trends and cooking techniques which I can probably apply when I put up my own food business.

Chef Patty Loanzon shared baking techniques and innovative approach while she prepared baked goodies like homemade chocolate ice cream, Guava-flavoured cake and Pesto Scones. Don’t be surprised to see these flavors soon in the market. Chef Patty has been baking and cooking since childhood, and further her knowledge by enrolling at the Cooking Essential Series in Heny Sison Culinary School (I remember watching Heny Sison’s TV show A Taste of Life!!!)

The attendees were given the chance to explore the kitchen and be creative with Sysu International brands like Clara Ole, Jif Peanut Butter, Tree Top and Smuckers.
