Website & i-Workshop Launch REGISTRATION

  1. Participants will register as an individual (1 person) or in a group (maximum of 4 members). All participants must be 18 years or older to join.

IMPORTANT: Each individual/every member of a group must have completed all 4 TasteSetters i-Workshop courses before the deadline of registration. Each participant’s profile will be checked for compliance.

  1. Registration opens on November 15, 2021. To register, fill up the form below this page.
  2. Participant/s are restricted to choose only one (1) category to participate in. The categories are:
      1. Bottling
      2. Baked Goods, Desserts and Ice Cream
      3. Instant Noodles
      4. Pizza and Burger
  3. Upon registration, the individual or group must create an initial dish concept based on their chosen category for pre-qualification screening. NOTE: the initial dish concept does not have to be the recipe to be used for the entire competition.
  4. The deadline for registration will be on December 15, 2021.
  5. On January 5, 2022, a confirmation email will be sent to five (5) individuals and/or groups per category that have been pre-qualified for the challenge. These are the only participants who will receive Mystery Boxes and will move forward to the Creation Stage as contestants.

 

CREATION STAGE 

  1. Contestants are given from January 6 to February 4, 2022 to create their own original recipes. All ideas, methods, etc. should originate from participants.
  2. Mystery Boxes shall be delivered to each of the pre-qualified contestants containing Sysu International Inc. products. Each box will contain ingredients specific to the category chosen. This will be free of charge.

IMPORTANT: For the recipe to be qualified to enter the competition, each box will contain a “key ingredient” that all participants must use in their recipe. Failure to do so shall result in disqualification. Other ingredients in the mystery box may be used for the dish, but participants are allowed to use ingredients other than the Mystery Box contents.

  1. From January 14-16, 2022, all contestants are given the option to schedule a 1-on-1 mentorship call via Zoom with one of our chefs to help during the creation stage.
  2. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING are as follows:  
      1. Concept Name
      2. Description of the concept
      3. Trendworthiness
      4. Relevance of the concept to WGSN food persona
  3. By the end of the creation stage, contestants need to have the following:
      1. Complete list of ingredients used in the recipe and exact quantity used of each
      2. Complete cooking instructions and procedures used
      3. One (1) photo showcasing the finished dish
      4. One (1) video of participants cooking the dish themselves demonstrating the procedure (maximum of 10 minutes long)

*individual participants must be present in the video. One or more members of a group may be in the video.

  1. Deadline for submission of recipes is on February 5, 2022. Failure to submit all the requirements by this time will result in disqualification.

 

 

 

 

FINALS

  1. Using the list of ingredients, procedure, and video guide made by the contestants, the chef judges will recreate the dish in order to evaluate based on the aforementioned criteria.
  2. On March 5, 2022, the winning recipes will be announced on our Facebook page. There will be one (1) winner for each of the four categories.

INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES

  1. Individuals who win First Place shall receive:
      1.  P20,000 prize money
      2. Gift packs from Sysu International Inc. worth P5,000
      3. Merchandise from TasteSetters worth P500
      4. Plaque and E-Certificate
  2. Consolation prizes for individual participants (5) include gift packs from Sysu International Inc. worth P2,000 

 

GROUP ENTRIES

  1. Groups  that win First Place shall receive:
      1. A total of P20,000 prize money
      2. Gift packs from Sysu International Inc. worth P5,000
      3. Merchandise from TasteSetters is worth P500
      4. Plaque and E-Certificate
  2. Consolation prizes for each member of the group (5) include gift packs from Sysu International Inc. worth P2,000

Bring your innovative ideas to life and create the next internet food sensation for a chance to win BIG prizes.

 

Complete our 4-course i-Workshop series for a chance to compete in an original recipe showdown against your fellow Tastesetters. Create your own dishes in one of these four categories: 

  1. Bottling and Food Preservation
  2. Instant Ramen and Food Deconstruction
  3. Baked Goods, Desserts, and Ice Cream 
  4. Pizza and Burger

 

BUT, there’s a catch.

Pre-qualified participants will be given a Mystery Box containing SYSU Products to use for their original recipe, one of which is a required ingredient that must be present in the dish to qualify.

 

Finalists per category will go on a LIVE video call with one of our top-industry chef judges, who will recreate the dish for evaluation. Only 1 recipe per category will be named the winner.
